On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King delivered the “I have a Dream” speech, that called for racial equality, the end of discrimination, and the hope of a better tomorrow. MLK envisioned a day in which his “four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”.
Today acts as a reminder of the Civil Rights Movement, and the courage put forth by the American people to accomplish equality in the eyes of the law. It’s a day that inspires us to believe, that we CAN create change through organization and collaboration. We encourage you to perform a random act of kindness today– because with small acts, we can create positive social change.
Rush49 is a place of ethnic diversity. We are a true reflection of America’s “melting pot” reputation. Rush49 has brought together a group of individuals from diverse religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, in hopes of building something new, exciting and relevant. At times our opposing viewpoints can create heated brainstorming sessions and discussions, but from these conversations we derive a more distinctive product and brand identity.
Today is a reminder of how far we have come as a nation, and how much we can accomplish together. Below is the MLK, “I have a Dream Speech”. We hope it inspires you, as it did us.
